As a songwriter, Nick Granato is not a stranger to the music industry. Nick started writing songs at the age of 7 and has had over 250+ songs recorded, and some 35 charting singles. His songs have been covered by some of the biggest names in music like Jimmy Buffett, Bette Midler, Randy Travis, Crystal Gayle, Eddie Rabbitt, Janie Fricke, Heirline, Juice Newton, Point Of Grace, Linda Lanier, Anne Murray, Michael English & Lonestar to name a few. There have been numerous awards, honors and nominations. Nick has written some high profile national commercial jingles for; the United Way (both 2002 & 2003), Hospice International, State Of Florida, Children's Outreach International and the theme for the 2002 U.S. Olympic Female Volleyball Team (Give Me Wings).
As a vocalist, Nick has been playing guitar and singing since the age of 7. Over the years he has performed in many noted (and not so noted) venues; The Grand Ole Opry (Nashville TN) Playboy Club/Americana (Great Gorge NJ), Blue Bird Café (Nashville TN), Ryman Auditorium (Nashville TN), Walt Disney World (Orlando FL), SummerHouse (Ft Walton Beach FL), Hogsbreath (Emerald Coast FL), Bottomline (NY NY), Harbor Docks (Destin FL), BayWinds Club (Nassau Bahamas), ElboRoom (Ft Lauderdale FL) Seminole Indian Casino (Coconut Creek FL), Dollywood (Pigeon Forge TN), Hamburger Marys (Wilton Manors FL), Fudpuckers (Ft Walton Beach FL) and others. Nick appeared as a professional background vocalist on many projects between 1982-1988. In 1989 Nick released an Inspirational CD "Up Against The Wall" on the Spiritwind Label, The CD produced 2 top 10 charting singles ("In The Sight of Angels" & "Paradise") and several nominations. Christian Countdown America, (the largest nationally syndicated Christian music radio program at the time) hosted by Jim Channell, featured Nick as the most promising new artist of the year. But songwriting prevailed, and soon after, Nick settled into the music publishing industry, taking over the reigns of the infamous Chestnut Mound Music Group until mid 2000, when he resigned from the position after a corporate buyout from Cal IV Entertainment.
Nick continues writing and having his songs recorded, but has been concentrating in the last year on writing songs for his own growth as a performer. In 2002, Nick decided to go back to his roots and started playing in clubs around the Florida panhandle. Because of his Florida background, the release of his first and current CD of original material dealt with a combination of the sun and the sand, with a very philosophical view of life and living. "Sun Dance" has been a great success, even Wal-Mart regionally picked up the independent project Nick spent a year performing and riding the sea on the Norwegian Dawn & the Norwegian Sun Cruise ships, his fan base grew quite large and became international. In late 2003 Nick decided that life in South Florida might be the place to settle in, this turned into a great decision because he has been booked solid and going non stop ever since. Nick has a very loyal and growing following. Just recently Nick had the honor of being asked by Governor & Mrs. Jeb Bush of Florida to appear at the Governors Mansion for a private function.
Nick is currently in the studio working on a new CD project with Producer Steve McCuin for Song Harbor Music. Nick's new CD promises more fun music about the Florida lifestyle, and of course delivered with that special philosophical twist!
